TRUS provides magnified close-up images of the prostate gland, rectum, and surrounding tissues with higher accuracy than abdominal ultrasound. The gold standard for evaluating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), chronic prostatitis, and guiding biopsy needles when needed.
